BOYS’ SOCCER PAIRINGS : El Dorado to Try Luck Minus Leitner

El Dorado opens the Southern Section 2-A boys’ soccer playoffs Friday at home against Calexico, but will do so without goalkeeper Blaine Leitner, who broke his leg during a late-season match.
El Dorado (14-2-8) was ranked sixth in the final Orange County coaches’ poll.
Ocean View, the No. 1-ranked team in the poll, is the top-seeded team in the Southern Section 4-A playoffs. The Seahawks (18-4-3) face Servite on Friday.
Mater Dei is seeded second, and on Friday the Monarchs play the winner of Wednesday’s game between Damien and Marina.
In Division 3-A, Capistrano Valley is the second-seeded team.
In 2-A wild-card games Wednesday, Indio is at Esperanza and La Quinta is at Trabuco Hills.
