Wayne’s Weekend: Paramount’s “Wayne’s World” took in $16 million at the box office Friday through Sunday, taking first place away from Hollywood Pictures’ “Medicine Man,” according to early box office reports. “Medicine Man” grossed about $7.8 million. A Paramount spokesman said he expects that “Wayne’s World,” a comedy based on the “Saturday Night Live” skit, will set a record for the four-day President’s Day weekend. Last year, Orion’s “Silence of the Lambs” sold $13.7 million worth of tickets over the same weekend.
