Voters in nine South Bay cities will go to the polls April 14. Here are the candidates who will appear on the ballot:

* Sophie Tarbuck, retired businesswoman
* Hugh T. (Bud) Smith, incumbent and retired airline captain
* Christine Graham, deputy city treasurer
* Harry Stiritz Jr., incumbent
* Shirley Davy, incumbent
CARSON
Seeking three council seats:
* Kay A. Calas, incumbent
* Vera Robles DeWitt, incumbent and businesswoman
* Pete Fajardo, planning commissioner and community services consultant
* Larry E. Grant, businessman and retired banker
* Iragayle (Gayle) Lucretia Konig, secretary

* Tim Lilligren, Manhattan Beach city clerk and accountant
* Claudia K. Medl-Rilling, chiropractor
* John S. (Rocky) Miller Jr., business lawyer
* Steven A. Napolitano, graphic designer
* James A. Shalvoy, lawyer
* Stephen A. Schlesinger, 47, incumbent and accountant
* Milo Wolff, 68, author, engineer, physicist
* Win Underhill, 66, retired deputy clerk
PALOS VERDES ESTATES
Seeking two city council seats:
* Ruth McGrew, retired teacher
* Raymond D. Mattingly, incumbent and retired hospital administrator
* James R. Nyman, incumbent and information services specialist for the city of Inglewood
* Edward Ritscher, aerospace project manager and former City Councilman
RANCHO PALOS VERDES
Voters will decide on a parcel tax to help cover the city’s budget deficit. The tax, which would range from $50 to $200 depending on property size, would be in effect until 1995.
ROLLING HILLS
Seeking two city council seats:
* Thomas F. Heinsheimer, space scientist and incumbent
* Frank Hill, businessman
* Godfrey Pernell, dentist and incumbent
