Monterey Park : City Gets $100 Donation
A resident who watched the City Council cut programs, raise fees and lay off an employee last week to avoid a deficit has given $100 to the city’s general fund.
City Treasurer Louise Davis said the woman, who did not want to be identified, walked into City Hall last week and handed Davis a check. The woman had attended the council’s budget-slashing session, Davis said.
“It probably won’t set a trend,” Davis said, “but all donations will be gratefully accepted.”
