SHAKESPEARIENCE: Back when Tom Bradac began fighting for Shakespeare in Garden Grove, his own board at the Grove Theatre Co. was afraid the Bard wouldn’t sell. The board lobbied for “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Bradac lobbied for “Romeo and Juliet.” The first season they settled for both. . . . Now, launching his new Shakespeare Orange County troupe at Chapman University in Orange (F1), it’s not an issue: “We’re strictly Shakespeare,” Bradac says. “Nobody questions whether he’s worth doing.”
