GIVE AT THE OFFICE: If you’re an office worker, it may pay to work in southern Orange County. After San Francisco and Los Angeles, the area south of the Costa Mesa Freeway has the highest-paying office jobs in the state, says Irvine’s Thomas Temporaries. . . . A Thomas survey shows, for instance, that a beginning receptionist in South County makes $1,568 a month, and $1,442 in North County--both above the statewide average of $1,383.
