Kia to Sell Cars in U.S.: Kia Motors Corp., a South Korean auto maker in which Ford Motor Co. owns a 10% stake, says it will begin selling its own cars in North America next year. Kia, which makes the Ford Festiva for the world’s No. 2 auto maker, will sell a compact sedan in mid-1993 to be followed by a sport-utility vehicle. The only other South Korean auto maker selling cars under its own nameplate in the U.S. is Hyundai Motor Co. Ltd.
