It’s All in the Surface

I refer to your Jan. 12 Travel Quiz: “What is the largest body of freshwater in the world?” Your answer, “Lake Superior,” is way off, depending of course on how you define “large.” If large means cubic capacity, Russia’s Lake Baykal is by far the largest lake on earth and holds 20% of the Earth’s freshwater, as much as all the capacity of the Great Lakes combined.
