Science Teacher Wins $1,000 Grant

Robert Bray, a science teacher at Sierra Vista High School in Baldwin Park, has been honored for his “continued contribution in leading today’s youth to develop tomorrow’s technology.”
Bray, who teaches physics and biology, received a $1,000 grant from the Wright Brothers Scholarship Fund. The Wright Brothers Innovative Teacher Award contest is sponsored by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce to promote the aerospace industry.
Bray has been credited with increasing the number of students enrolling in physics classes through innovative projects, such as making model space re-entry vehicles.
