SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Two missing bicyclists turned up safe late Saturday after prompting a search of the San Juan Trail by Orange County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Department personnel who feared they may have been lost or ill, a Fire Department spokesman said Sunday.
“The riders walked out on their own” and there was no medical emergency, said Fire Department dispatch supervisor Steve McClellan. The bicyclists’ names were not available, McClellan said. Neither required medical assistance.
Authorities began searching for the couple Saturday afternoon along the rugged and mountainous trail in the Cleveland National Forest when another couple who had been riding with them reported them missing.
