VENTURA : Youth Stabbed in School Parking Lot
A 16-year-old Saticoy youth was stabbed in the parking lot at Buena High School in Ventura while attending a church-sponsored play with an anti-gang message, police said Sunday.
Miguel Magallanes was stabbed several times about 7:23 p.m. Saturday, police said. He was taken to Ventura County Medical Center and treated and released, the nursing supervisor said.
A police news release did not give details about the weapon used. Nor did it specify what might have triggered the attack. No other details were available Sunday.
Police have no one in custody, but several rival gangs from around the county were at the play, which is sponsored by Victory Outreach of Oxnard, Ventura police spokesman Rick French said.
The play was to run again Sunday, French said. Private security guards were at the event Saturday night and were also scheduled to be present Sunday, French said.
