A Doctor Crumbles in the Face of Death
Re “Scared to Death,” many years ago Franklin Roosevelt said: “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.” He spoke from a wheelchair and as a survivor of polio. He was also the only U. S. President to be elected to four terms. Apparently the American voters saw something in him beyond the wheelchair.
I hope friends, family and colleagues can still see some kind of life in those of us who are battling life-threatening diseases. I am a second-time cancer survivor who benefits greatly from being treated as I’ve always been--without fear.
