PALM LATITUDES
I read with amusement how crematoriums are finding that the silicone in women’s breast implants, because it doesn’t burn, leaves a gooey mess in their machines (“In Excess,” Dec. 15).
Because society says it’s fashionable to be well-endowed, women submit themselves to unnecessary pain, not to mention exorbitant expense, just to lose it all when they return to the dust from which they came.
It clearly proves the old adage, “You can’t take it with you.”
