A 41-year-old man died after he was shot in the head and found by a jogger near railroad tracks in North Hollywood, Los Angeles police said.
Fred Rose of Valencia was unconscious when a local jogger found him on Chandler Boulevard near Clybourn Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, said Lt. Ronald La Rue. Rose died Friday at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Neighbors told police they heard gunshots at about 6:30 p.m., La Rue said.
Police suspect the motive for the slaying was robbery, La Rue said. Rose was missing some property, including his car, police said. Rose’s wife last saw him when he left home Wednesday in his gray Oldsmobile Cutlass. The car was not recovered, La Rue said.
Police have no suspects in the slaying.
