Dirk Sutro’s very negative evaluation of the Loew’s Coronado Bay Resort Hotel (“A Tasteless Confection,” View, Jan. 9) raises this question: why is he annoyed, as he puts it, that “few locals apparently find fault” with the hotel?
Is his ego so huge that he can’t stand anyone disagreeing with him?
Also, why was it necessary to bury his one compliment regarding “enticing garden, bay and pool terrace views?”
I am not an architecture buff and the finer points of design and materials are not my expertise. But I am sensitive to arrogance, and this is king-sized.
