Marinovich Needs Time to Get His Act Together

Here we go again. Let’s crucify the kid. After hearing and reading about Todd Marinovich, my first reaction was to feel sorry for him--which I still do.

But there are other factors to consider: Here is a kid, 22, with a drug problem and making more than $1 million. How soon we forget what it was like to be 22. Can you imagine the pressure this boy is under. Pressure from home, the Raiders and himself.

He was wrong in not showing up at court, but he will take care of that mistake. We do learn from mistakes. It’s hard to grow up overnight. I pray for him daily and I hope life’s pressures will eventually make him stronger.
