Oops: Rich Prospero, first year basketball coach at Santa Ana Valley, thought he was doing something special for his program when he purchased $700 worth of baseball caps. He planned to give the hats to his players and sell them at Falcon games.
Then, he noticed the sign above the door of the Santa Ana Valley gymnasium. “Absolutely No Hats Allowed In the Gym.” It’s a precaution, school officials said, to prevent gang problems.
“I guess I could have spent that money a little more wisely,” Prospero said.
