A 67-year-old Pacoima man allegedly shot and killed his 27-year-old girlfriend in the parking lot of a Lake View Terrace liquor store before surrendering to authorities, Los Angeles police said Wednesday.
Willie Briggs was being held at the Foothill Division Jail without bail on suspicion of murder. He admitted killing Maxine Torry following a domestic dispute, Lt. Bernard D. Conine said.
Conine said Briggs followed Torry to the store in the 11000 block of Foothill Boulevard about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, then shot her three times as she emerged from her car. About two hours later, he turned in himself and the gun at the Foothill station, Conine said.
