La Canada Flintridge : 210 Sound Tests to Begin
- Share via
The City Council announced Tuesday that preliminary sound testing along the portion of the 210 Freeway that runs through the city will begin by the end of the month.
Responding to appeals by homeowners and the city, the California Department of Transportation will place sound meters at eight locations for a 72-hour test. If noise levels reach or exceed the state maximum, the city would qualify for a sound wall along the route.
“We’ve had complaints from residents living near the 210 for some years,” said Fullmer Chapman, director of Public Works.
The city will incur no cost for the testing.
