BALTIMORE — Six animal rights activists were arrested at an auto show Sunday after three chained themselves to a General Motors car and three others smashed another GM car to protest safety tests involving animals.
The protesters were members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Those who smashed the car, donated by a demonstrator, were dressed as animals. They were charged with littering and refusing police orders to stop.
