Switzerland’s Vreni Schneider, the favorite in the women’s slalom and giant slalom events at next month’s Olympic Games, won a World Cup slalom race at Maribor, Slovenia, with a total of 1:14.92. Deborah Compagnoni of Italy was second at 1:15.80.
Schneider increased her overall World Cup total to 620 points, 84 points ahead of Petra Kronberger of Austria.
