Monterey Park : No Conflict With RTD Seen
- Share via
After surveying Rapid Transit District bus riders, officials have concluded that the city’s own trolley lines will not take away business from RTD.
RTD officials had been concerned about portions of the city’s four proposed routes overlapping RTD routes along Atlantic Boulevard, Garfield Avenue and Monterey Pass Road.
But Larry Reihm, Monterey Park director of parks and recreation, said a survey of 300 RTD users found only five who used RTD buses within the city.
The City Council will ask RTD’s Board of Directors not to oppose their new lines, which must be approved by the Los Angeles County Transportation Commission.
