HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Alemany Girls Thwart Louisville

Alemany High scored two goals midway through the first half and added another early in the second half to upend Louisville, 3-1, in a girls’ soccer match Friday night. The host Indians remained undefeated in Mission League play.
Michelle Bush scored an unassisted goal for the Indians (13-4-2, 4-0-1 in league play) and Sandy Bennett scored on an assist from Shannon Sgro to boost Alemany into a 2-0 halftime lead. Maureen O’Hare scored early in the second half on a corner kick from Katie Piroutek for Alemany’s third goal.
Freshman goaltender Michelle Aasen made 10 saves for the Indians. Cindy Daws scored on a 25-yard kick for Louisville (8-3-3, 2-3).
In other girls’ matches:
La Reina 2, Oak Park 1--Jaimie Armstrong scored two goals, including the go-ahead goal midway through the second half, for defending Tri-Valley League champion La Reina (2-0 in league play). Oak Park (8-3-3, 1-1) took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick five minutes into the match, but Armstrong, on an assist from Alicia Moon, tied the score late in the first half. La Reina (7-2-2 overall) outshot visiting Oak Park, 17-7.
Nordhoff 3, Calabasas 2--Charlee Bell scored an unassisted goal, her 11th of the season, in the 61st minute to lift the host Rangers (6-2-1, 1-1-1) to a Frontier League victory. Karin Easling and Charlene Fleming scored first-half goals for Nordhoff, but goals by Angela Napra and Heidi Schaeffer tied the score early in the second half.
Santa Clara 4, Santa Paula 2--Vanessa Macien scored two second-half goals and Joy Rodriguez added the go-ahead score on a penalty kick as the host Saints (2-0 in league play) came back from a 2-1 halftime deficit in a Frontier League match. Jennifer Drake and Patty Razo scored for Santa Paula (2-5-4, 0-1-1).
Harvard-Westlake 3, Crossroads 0--Alyze Lowen scored two goals to raise her season total to 17, and Stacy Schwartz added a goal for the Wolverines in a nonleague match at Crossroads (7-4-3). Goalie Cari Schwartz recorded her sixth shutout for Westlake (9-0-2).
BOYS
Royal 7, Channel Islands 0--Jody Riehl and Ryan Campbell each scored two goals and goalie Steve Hambly posted his fourth consecutive shutout for the host Highlanders (10-2-1, 5-0) in a Marmonte League match. Wade Stark, Travis Thompson and Lucas Pedersen also scored. Channel Islands (1-3-3) fell to 0-2-2 in league play.
Santa Paula 2, Santa Clara 0--Adan Almaraz and Jesus Diaz scored first-half goals and the host Cardinals (10-4-2, 2-0) remained undefeated in Frontier League play. Goalie Greg Lister recorded his seventh shutout. Santa Clara is 1-2 in league play.
Hueneme 2, Ventura 0--The Vikings scored a goal in each half to grab a Channel League road victory. Ventura (4-6-1, 1-3-1) lost center-halfback Kevin Kitchingham in the second half because of a concussion.
Calabasas 5, Nordhoff 0--Jason Lonas scored three goals in a Frontier League win for the host Coyotes (12-2-1, 2-0). Dan Rosenbloom and Bhret Haessig also scored and goalie Josh Hahn posted his 11th shutout.
L.A. Baptist 2, Western Christian 1--Jeff Dibbini and Adrian Koali-Nagy scored first-half goals for the Knights (4-4-3, 2-0) in an Alpha League match at L.A. Baptist.
Chaminade 4, Littlerock 1--Darren Johnson scored two goals and John Steinkamp and Dave Neudorff notched one each for the host Eagles (6-7-3) in a nonleague match. Andrew Krekorian assisted on three of Chaminade’s goals and goalie Mike Herr made 14 saves.
