The New York Giants hired former New England Patriots coach Rod Rust as their defensive coordinator and promoted Jim Fassel from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator.
Rust replaces Al Groh, who was hired by the Cleveland Browns. Fassel takes over some of the duties that Coach Ray Handley had last season.
