‘Too Sexy’ Dancers Cancel Chinese Tour

HONG KONG — A Spanish folk dance group has canceled its shows in China because Chinese authorities said the dancers’ costumes are “too sexy,” the dance group’s Hong Kong representative said Tuesday.
Organizers for Grupo Scola Carrusel del Prado, based in Barcelona, said that authorities in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen informed them Friday that the dancers’ traditional Spanish flamenco costumes would be unsuitable for Chinese audiences.
