Mey, second behind Jansen over the same distance Saturday, equaled his 5-year-old rink record with a time of 36.70 seconds.
Jansen, .14 of a second slower than Saturday, was timed in 36.86. Japan’s Yasunori Miyabe finished third at 37.02.
Jansen still has the year’s fastest 500 time, 36.59. Mey’s world mark of 36.45 was set at the 1988 Winter Olympics.
