Duncan Kennedy, a medalist in all four World Cup races this season, won the U.S. Olympic Luge trials at Lake Placid, N.Y.
Kennedy, 24, won with a four-run time of 2:50.468, defeating Tim Wiley by .43 seconds.
Wiley, 22, qualified on the basis of his second-place finish, and first-year World Cup racer Robert Pipkins was added to the Olympic squad by U.S. Luge coaches. Pipkins, 18, is the World Cup’s only black luge racer.
