SANTA ANA — Sheriff investigators arrested a fifth man in connection with the Dec. 29 fatal, drive-by shooting of a Lake Forest teen-ager.
Jason Paul Legare, 19, was booked on suspicion of murder and held in Orange County Jail on Friday night, said Lt. Jay Mendez. He was being held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Legare contacted sheriff’s investigators from Toronto this week and volunteered to return to Santa Ana with investigators, Mendez said.
Arraignment was scheduled Monday in South County Municipal Court, Mendez said.
Sheriff’s investigators did not elaborate on Legare’s alleged connection with the murder and said their investigation into the shooting is continuing.
Bylan Hanna, 17, was shot while in his bedroom. Four other suspects are in custody.
