MOSCOW — A tiger that had not been fed for five days escaped from his cage in a zoo in the far eastern city of Vladivostok and killed one of its keepers, the Tass news agency reported Friday.
The tiger was later shot to death by the keeper’s husband.
As the economic situation worsens throughout the former Soviet Union, humans are not the only ones to suffer. Zoo and circus animals are also forced to put up with poor diets and infrequent feedings.
