NEWPORT BEACH — A woman suspected of robbing up to 30 banks in Orange and Los Angeles counties was arrested Tuesday in connection with the Christmas Eve robbery of a bank here, police said.
Acting on a tip, police arrested Delores Carol Carabajal, 31, without incident near an apartment complex in the 2100 block of Mallul Drive in Anaheim, Newport Beach police Sgt. Andy Gonis said.
She is being held in City Jail in lieu of $50,000, Gonis said.
Carabajal was dubbed the “Foulmouthed Bandit” because of her use of profanity and what witnesses have described as mouth sores, according to the FBI.
