Magazine Sells Controlling Interest: The publisher of California Homes and lifestyles said it has sold a controlling interest in the Irvine magazine to Minneapolis-based Adams Communications. Magazine Publishing Co. in Irvine said it has entered into a joint venture with Adams, the newly formed M.A. Communications in Van Nuys, to continue publishing California Homes and lifestyles. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Adams Communications owns a variety of media outlets across the nation. Magazine Publishing’s former Orange County magazine was merged into California Homes and lifestyles last year.
