Trimedyne to Expand Laser Tests: Trimedyne Inc. said it has received Food and Drug Administration clearance to expand clinical trials of a “cold” laser to clear coronary arteries. Trials of the excimer laser, which has so far been tested on fewer than 100 patients at three centers in Pennsylvania, Texas and Palm Springs, will now be expanded to 10 medical centers across the United States.
