Women’s Freestyle Relay Team Seals Irvine Swimming Victory
IRVINE — The UC Irvine women’s swimming team won the 400-yard freestyle relay to clinch the 13th UC Irvine Swimming and Diving Invitational Sunday at Heritage Park.
Irvine finished with 607 points in the two-day competition. Danielle Pajer, Stacey Stout, Amber Walz and Devon Sandlin combined for the relay victory, which was the final event of the competition. Pajer had won the 100 breaststroke Saturday and was second in the 200 breaststroke Sunday.
Colorado State was second in the women’s competition with 575 points and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (471) was third.
In the men’s competition, Cal State Bakersfield won with 1,125 points. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (477) was second and UC Irvine (395) third.
