Reviewing Our Year-End Review

Once again Martin Bernheimer has hit the mark with his Beckmesser Awards. However, there was one serious omission:

All-the-news-that’s-print-to-fit award: To the Los Angeles Times for relegating music and dance articles and reviews to the hindmost pages of Calendar while reserving the coveted front pages for important news about the change in skin color of Michael Jackson.

Sunday Calendar is the worst offender, with more pages devoted to that paradise city Laughlin. If local arts groups are not receiving their due respect, it might be because no one knows about their existence.
