European Newspaper Wins Reprieve: The European newspaper, owned by the late Robert Maxwell, won a last-minute reprieve from closure Monday when administrators said they would fund it for another month. “The European will be published for the first four weeks of the New Year on money from the administrators,” said a spokesman for accountants Arthur Anderson, administrators to the private Maxwell companies.
