Long Beach : Braude Assured of Backing If He Seeks Seat in Congress
Long Beach City Councilman Evan Anderson Braude has not decided yet if he will seek the congressional seat held by his soon-to-retire stepfather, Rep. Glenn M. Anderson (D-Long Beach). But if Braude does throw his hat in the ring, Anderson says he will endorse him.
Commenting on a Los Angeles Times article about his decision not to seek reelection, Anderson said recently that if Braude runs for his 38th Congressional District seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, “I will most assuredly support and campaign wholeheartedly for him. My stepson is a tough, fair-minded, independent thinker who has leadership qualities (that)it will take to make our nation strong in the difficult decade ahead.”
