California IN BRIEF : VENTURA : Small Quake Causes No Damage to Area

A small earthquake measured at magnitude 2.7 hit an area about four miles northwest of the city Tuesday, officials said. No damage or injuries were reported. The quake was reported at 6:18 a.m., said Robert Finn, a spokesman for the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department received no calls from residents regarding the temblor, Lt. Kelli McIlvain said. Ventura is about 50 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
