Hurricanes Suspend Patton After Arrest
From Staff and Wire Reports
Running back Martin Patton of the Miami Hurricanes was suspended by Coach Dennis Erickson Thursday after being arrested on charges of credit-card fraud. Patton will miss the Orange Bowl game against Nebraska.
Patton, a sophomore, and former Miami teammate Solomon Moore were indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of running up more than $3,000 on a credit card that mistakenly was delivered to Patton’s home.
Patton was Miami’s third-leading rusher, with 242 yards, and the fifth-leading receiver, with 26 catches for 428 yards.
