WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Long Beach Rallies for 69-57 Victory

Kellie Bennett scored 21 points and Kari Parriott added 18 points and nine rebounds to lead the Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team to a 69-57 victory over Southwest Texas State on Thursday before 402 at University Gym.
Long Beach (3-1) trailed, 29-22, at halftime and rallied behind 70.9% shooting.
Southwest Texas (2-4) was led by Rene Woodard, Clara Ortiz and Tammie Tilghman, each of whom scored 13 points.
