2 Men Shot to Death in Truck Identified
Two men who were shot to death during the Tuesday-night rush hour while driving a stolen truck on 40th Street have been identified as Francisco Luis Gonzales, 31, and Manuel Aranda, 37, the San Diego County medical examiner’s office said.
Fingerprints were used to make the identifications, as neither man carried a wallet or other identifying papers.
The two apparently were shot by unknown assailants in a passing vehicle as the truck came north onto 40th Street in City Heights from Interstate 15, San Diego police said. They were discovered dead at the scene by the California Highway Patrol, which was called to investigate a report of a truck having crashed into the median strip of 40th Street.
Police ask that anyone who might have seen the shooting contact them.
