World IN BRIEF : SOVIET UNION : Chile Won’t Force Honecker to Leave

Chilean officials said they will not force former East German leader Erich Honecker out of their embassy in Moscow. Honecker, 79, sought refuge Wednesday to avoid expulsion to Germany, where he faces criminal charges for allegedly ordering East German border guards to kill anyone who tried to flee to the West. Although Chile has allowed Honecker to stay at the embassy, it has refused to let him into the country.
