The Korean Chamber of Commerce presented the city with $4,000 last week in appreciation for its support of the Korean Festival in October.
City spokesman John Bushman said the money will help pay for special events, recreation activities, scholarships for underprivileged children to attend the city’s annual Big Bear summer camp and the city’s anti-graffiti program.
“This is from the profits of the Korean festival,” Bushman said. “Because of the city’s support to the festival, they thought they would provide some support back. It’s a very generous contribution from the Korean community.”
