Woman Killed Crossing Highway
A woman was struck by a car and killed Sunday afternoon as she was trying to cross Interstate 15 in Fallbrook, the San Diego County medical examiner’s office said.
Margarita Medrano-Cuellar, 27, address unknown, was among a group of people crossing the freeway just north of Mission Road at 2 p.m., the medical examiner said. She and Manuel Ortega, age and address unknown, were struck by a northbound car.
Ortega was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where he was in good condition with cuts, hospital officials said.
