Tim Miller, AIDS and the Definition of Art
- Share via
I was disappointed that on the most important day of the year for AIDS activists and the arts community, you chose to devote your cover story to Miller.
While I agree with his politics, your profile of “homeboy hero” Miller (as Breslauer refers to him) read like it was written by his publicist. I would have appreciated less of “teacher, cultural organizer, activist, artistic director and performance artist” Miller (did I forget saint?) and more about how the arts community is responding to human loss as a result of AIDS.
Art = Activism, yes. Art =Self-Promotion, no.
