Eisenhower-Mater Dei Title Game in Anaheim Stadium, Rain or Shine
- Share via
Because of heavy ticket sales, Anaheim Stadium officials decided Wednesday to allow Friday’s high school championship game between Santa Ana Mater Dei and Rialto Eisenhower to be played whether it rains or not.
In previous years, the Southern Section Division I championship has been moved from Anaheim Stadium to an alternate site when it rains, so as not to damage the natural turf. This year’s alternate site was Cerritos College, which has a capacity of 12,000.
Mater Dei and Eisenhower each were allotted 6,000 tickets. Both schools sold all their tickets. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning today at noon at Anaheim Stadium.
Mater Dei (12-1) and Eisenhower (13-0) will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
