OXNARD : Pizza Restaurant Robbed at Gunpoint
An armed robber escaped with an undetermined amount of cash from a Domino’s Pizza restaurant Monday night after locking three employees in a restroom, police said.
The unidentified man entered the restaurant in the 400 block of W. Channel Islands Blvd. shortly before 9 p.m., pulled out a handgun and ordered clerk Richard Hammock, 36, of Oxnard to open the cash register, police said.
The robber then locked Hammock and co-workers Barbara Amato, 18, and Troy Tilkens, 21, both of Oxnard, in a bathroom before fleeing, police said.
The employees unlocked the bathroom from the inside and called police. No one was injured. Police are looking for a black man between 25 and 30, 6-feet-1 and 190 pounds.
A Domino’s Pizza manager said the neighborhood of commercial, retail and office buildings where the restaurant is located has had at least one robbery in the past year.
