Harry Shearer has severely missed the point. To suggest that Roseanne Arnold, or anyone else who is recovering from alcoholism or child abuse, is doing so for monetary gain is ludicrous. For a recovering alcoholic, an adult child of an alcoholic or a victim of childhood incest to talk about the experience of recovering is not gossip, but rather a painful and necessary component of the process of recovery.
