Los Alamitos 37, Newhall Hart 23--Los Alamitos scored 16 consecutive second-half points in the Division III semifinal at College of the Canyons.
Hart quarterback Ryan Connors, who entered the game with 3,764 yards and 37 touchdowns, completed 32 of 56 passes for 399 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the season as the all-time leading passer in the state.
Arroyo 7, Indio 3--Carl Cevello kicked a 20-yard field goal to give Indio a 3-0 first quarter lead, but Keith MacLellan ran in from 20 yards on a fourth-and-one play in the third quarter to send the Knights into the Division V final next week against Corona. Arroyo is 10-3, while Indio finishes 9-4.
Carpinteria 35, Cerritos Valley Christian 28--Pat McIntyer tied a school record with four touchdowns and rushed for 126 yards in 20 carries to lead the Warriors into the Division IX championship for the fifth time in the last six years.
Carpinteria (11-2) had to hold off a late Valley Christian rally, led by quarterback Vern Carlson’s two touchdown passes. Valley Christian finished the season 10-3.
