Apartment Destroyed

A two-alarm fire destroyed at least one apartment at the Telegraph Canyon Villas complex in Chula Vista on Thursday night, witnesses said.
The fire was reported to the Chula Vista Police and Fire departments about 8:40 p.m., and authorities sent 10 engines to the complex at 600 Telegraph Canyon Road.
A resident, who asked not to be identified, said several residents tried to fight the blaze with fire extinguishers but were unsuccessful. There were no apparent injuries, he said.
