OUTLOOK
La Habra lost 25 points and 25 rebounds per game when Leslie Ferguson and Ana Kristich graduated from the last season’s Southern Section Division II-A semifinalist team. Although Ferguson is now playing basketball for UC Riverside, and Ana Kristich is playing volleyball for Cal State Northridge, don’t feel sorry for Koehler. La Habra still has 6-foot-5 center Zrinka Kristich around to lead another league championship charge. Koehler pointed out that chances are always good “when you have a dominating center (Kristich) and an excellent guard (Hernandez).” Hernandez is an all-league point guard joined in the backcourt by Little, who earned honorable mention all-league honors last season. Two freshmen, Weathers and Lien, could also contribute. Weathers is a good ballhandler who could break into the starting lineup and push Little to small forward. Lien gives Koehler another promising 6-footer. “Amy (Lien) has as much skill as Ana (Kristich) when she came in,” Koehler said. Kelly, Hidalgo and Fuentes will also figure prominently for the Highlanders.
